Working for Working is made up a dedicated group of talented college students who strive to improve the city! Each year, Working for Worcester recruits approximately 10 upperclassmen students and three first-year interns. 

Director of Digital Operations

Christos Papavassiliou

Director of Digital Operations

Christos Papavassiliou is a sophomore at the College of the Holy Cross. He is from Wellesley, MA and is a Psychology Major on the Pre-Med track. This is his second year on the Working for Worcester Team as he was an intern last year. In addition, last year Christos was a head site manager and that experience allowed him to truly recognize the impact of the work each year. He look forward to and even more impactful year and working with the team on Year 12!

Jalen Coker

Community Relations Manager

Jalen is a senior at the College of the Holy Cross. He is a native of Sterling, Virginia. He is currently pursuing a degree in psychology. Jalen is starting his second year with Working for Worcester. He began his role on Working for Worcester as a sponsored athlete and then move to volunteering with his football team for Build Day 2023. He is so excited to start his second year of working for Worcester, and to give back to the kids and community. Moreover, with his bigger role this year, he is looking to make a much bigger impact!

J.T. Burgio

JT is a senior at the College of the Holy Cross and a native of Buffalo, New York. He is currently looking to pursue a degree in History and hopes to attend law school. JT joined Working for Worcester in Year 10 as the Co-Director of Site Development. enjoys giving back to the Worcester community and cannot wait until Build Day!

Julia is a sophomore at the College of the Holy Cross and comes to Worcester from Mountainside, New Jersey. She is currently pursuing a degree in Accounting. This is Julia’s first year Working for Worcester and she is excited for the opportunity to make a difference in the community. She is delighted to be on the Management team and even more excited to role up her sleeves and build something!

Peter is a Second-Year Student at The College of The Holy Cross from Worcester. He is on the Pre-Law track and majors in Classical Studies. Peter approaches his third year with Working for Worcester (second on the team) with great excitement and the same passion and commitment to bettering the Worcester community that brought him to the organization.

Jack is a senior at the College of the Holy Cross on the men’s ice hockey team from Toronto, Canada. He is currently pursuing a degree in Accounting. Jack joined the team last year as a Working for Worcester athlete and is excited to make an impact this year. He is thrilled to be a part of the management team and give back to the community around him!

Kylie is a senior at the College of the Holy Cross from Readington, NJ. She is a member of the varsity field hockey team and is double majoring in Political Science and Studio Art. A returning member of Year 11's managing team, Kylie is looking forward to giving back and connecting with the community, both in person and virtually, as Director of Marketing!

Lila Macklin

Director of Inventory and Purchasing

Lila is a senior at the College of the Holy Cross. She was born and raised in Chicago, IL. She is earning her degree in political science with a concentration in peace and conflict studies. Lila joined Working for Worcester sophomore year as a volunteer and loved the experience with likeminded individuals who wanted to give back. She spent the subsequent spring in Australia and now returning to the hill, she is thrilled to join Working for Worcester on the management team for another amazing year with the organization.

Maura is a sophomore at the College of the Holy Cross from Cleveland, Ohio. She is currently pursuing a degree in Psychology on the Pre-Medicine track. This is Maura's first year with Working for Worcester, and she is thrilled to be a part of the Management Team. Maura is looking forward to working with such a hard working and passion driven team that shares a common goal: giving back to the Worcester community!

Abby joined Working for Worcester this year and is excited to be more involved and have the chance to give back to the community! She hopes she can bring value to the team and come together with them to improve the city!

Jake is from Milton, Massachusetts and is a senior pursuing a degree in Accounting from College of the Holy Cross. This is Jake's 3rd year as a part of Working for Worcester, having previously contributed as a Head Site Manager. This experience inspired him to become an even more active participant in the organization and to contribute his skills and expertise to enhance Worcester and the surrounding areas. He is committed towards creating a lasting impact in the community and is excited to see what Build Day 2024 will bring!

Abby is a senior at Holy Cross and is from West Roxbury, MA. She is pursuing a double major in English and Political Science. Abby joined Working for Worcester during her sophomore year as a Site Manager at Seven Hills Foundation. She is committed to the impactful work that Working for Worcester is able to do each year and is excited for Year 12!

Tiana is a sophomore at the College of the Holy Cross and is from Hanover, Massachusetts. She is studying for her degree in Psychology. This is her second year on the Working for Worcester team, last year she joined as a freshman intern. She is so excited for the upcoming year and working to help her community, as well as working with this year's team.

Marley is a junior at the College of the Holy Cross and originally from Bedford, NH. She is currently pursing degrees in Biology and Studio Art. Marley joined Working for Worcester freshman year as a volunteer at Pernet Family Health Center and has volunteered ever since. She loves being apart of a team focused on community improvement and giving back to the city she loves.
