Volunteer Tasks and Assignments:

Below is a Detailed Overview of The Assignments on Build Day That Volunteers Will Do. 

Project #1: Painting the Blacktop Games

Activity Leader: Ella Bromage

Objective: Refresh and repaint existing blacktop games, ensuring vibrant, engaging play areas.

Plan:

  1. Clean the blacktop area with brooms to ensure a dust-free surface.

  2. Lay out designs using painter's tape for sharp lines.

  3. Stir paint thoroughly before use.

  4. Apply paint with rollers and brushes for even coverage.

  5. Allow paint to dry before removing the painter's tape.

Tools Needed: Paint (all colors), paint stirrers, brushes, painter's tape, rollers, can openers, brooms

Volunteers Needed: 5-10

 
Project #2: Assemble Gaga Ball Pit

Activity Leader: Aidan Rogan

Objective: Assemble a Gaga Ball Pit on the existing blacktop to introduce a new physical activity game.

Plan:

  1. Layout the components according to the assembly instructions.

  2. Use the rubber mallet and screwdrivers for assembly, ensuring all parts are secure.

  3. Adjust placement as needed to fit the designated area.

Tools Needed: Rubber mallet, adjustable wrench, Philips and Flat Head screwdrivers

Volunteers Needed: 10-15

 
Project #3: Create Additional Blacktop Games

Activity Leader: Brendan O'Leary

Objective: Design and paint new blacktop games to add variety to the play area.

Plan:

  1. Sketch designs on the blacktop using measuring tape and straight edges for accuracy.

  2. Apply painter's tape to outline the games.

  3. Paint within the lines with brushes and rollers, using different colors as designated.

  4. Remove tape after drying for crisp lines.

Tools Needed: Paint (all colors), paint stirrers, brushes, painter's tape, rollers, can openers, brooms, measuring tape, straight edge

Volunteers Needed: 5-10
