Project Overview:

We will be constructing a food and clothing pantry for Chandler Elementary School.

Project #1: Building Shelves

Activity Leader: Kate & Bess

Objective: Construct shelves for storing clothes and food products.

Plan:

● Volunteers will be split into two separate groups.

● Each group will construct one of the shelving units.

Tools Needed: Building manual for shelves, tools for shelve construction (screwdrivers,

wrenches, screws, nuts, bolts)

Volunteers Needed: 8

Project #2: Organizing Food and Stocking Food Shelves

Activity Leader: Jenna

Objective: Organize the food products and neatly stack them by food type in the shelving units.

Plan:

● Prep room for shelves (cleaning etc.) unbox all food, organize on shelves

Tools Needed: Food products.

Volunteers Needed: 5

Project #3: Organizing Clothes and Stocking Shelves

Activity Leader: Cate & Lily

Objective: Organize the food products and neatly stack them by food type in the shelving units..

Plan:

● Prep room for shelves (cleaning etc.)

● unbox all clothing,

● organize by size/type of clothes,

● stock in shelves

Tools Needed: Clothing.

Volunteers Needed: 5

Project #4: Cleaning out Back Room / Organizing clothing

already there

Activity Leader: Julia

Objective: Bringing order to the back room and integrating clothing there with newly purchased

clothing for the shelves.

Plan:

● Organize the back room, namely, the clothing that is already in the main closet

● Prep room for shelves and stocking

Tools Needed: Boxes (from clothes brought in)

Volunteers Needed: 5
