Unum, committed to social responsibility and improving the lives of the people in their community, has been one of the foremost partners of the Working for Worcester project since our inception in 2012. Apart from helping the Working for Worcester team connect with numerous Worcester businesses and community organizations, Unum has also been deeply involved in both years’ project days. In year one, Unum used its financial, physical and community resources to build a commercial playground at South High School for their daycare/preschool program. In year two, Unum once again showed its commitment to the Worcester community and the WforW project as they devoted their time and resources to help build a playground and renovate Banis Park, transform a field space at Lincoln Street School into a diverse play area and help maintain the playground built at South High last year. In the two W4W project years, Unum has not only committed resources to these projects, but more than 100 Unum employees joined our volunteer core to build better wellness opportunities for kids. Unum’s Senior Vice Presidents Chris Collins and Steve Joseph have also devoted their personal time to Working for Worcester by being part of our advisory board, on which they bring their insight, business expertise and network to help the W4W community mission continue to grow.
