On Saturday April 25th, the Working for Worcester team gathered with volunteers, business leaders, city officials, and Worcester locals for the Working for Worcester 2015 kick off rally at 8am! The rally showcased the incredible community coalition behind this project and served as a great way to start our MONSTER day of community pride and service! Then 1000+ volunteers from 10 Worcester universities and multiple corporations/neighborhood organizations headed out across the city to make over $100,000 of construction and renovation improvements at 19 sites! By the end of the day, new playgrounds, school yard basketball courts, community gardens, and a baseball field were created from scratch and youth centers renovated, parks cleaned up, and dozens more renovations were implemented! It was an incredible day and an incredible symbol of why Worcester is such a special community! For more details on the project, be sure to look at our Project By-The-Numbers, our Featured Site Recaps, as well as our Rally Photo Gallery.
200K of resources and investment into 21 projects across the city. With the rally at Worcester City Hill and Common and energy at an all time high, 2016 Build Day was a day to remember! Thank you for making this possible.
